A few days ago one of Edmonton’s most favored summer festivals went thru yet another name change. Once Klondike Days, renamed a few years ago as Capital Ex only to be voted into “K-Days”. In my opinion it was always known as K-Days and never really changed…..(on a side note, I also wonder what these changes cost us?)
The point is, what’s really in a name? When it comes to real estate a name can mean everything. Here is a list of actual street names found in North America. If you found that stunning dream home, but it was on one of these streets, would it affect your purchase choice???
• Divorce Ct (Pennsylvania)
• Farfrompoopen Road (Arkansas)
• Shades of Death Road (New Jersey)
• Dingle Bingle Hill Terrace (Nanaimo)
• Rue Schmuck (Quebec)
• Colon Street (San Francisco)
• Random Street (Cleveland, OH)
• Toe Jam Hill Rd (Washington)
• Old Possum Holler Road (North Carolina)
It will always be your personal choice, but a name may have more meaning to you than you ever thought when it’s about to appear on your mail every day. And if anything, you could always try announcing that you are moving to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in Wales.
Happy house hunting.
