Summer 2015

Summer truly is a highlight in Edmonton, and if the last 2 weeks are a future indicator, we are in for an unbelievable few months!  The time of year combined with incredible weather has our city buzzing, an explosion of colors, sounds and sights.  Everywhere people are enjoying local fare on patios, filling planters, swinging golf clubs, starting up boats and bikes and black tie graduates are taking over the city leaving tear filled parents wondering where the time has gone.
It’s almost overload for us, we have a lot of excitement to jam into our outdoor season, and one of the best way to fill the sunny days is with the multitude of festivals our city offers.  Did you know that recently National Geographic released a list of the “Top 10 Summer Trips” and Edmonton made the rankings??   Yes, we did!  We are “The Festival City…Welcoming the World”.  I mean, WE know how fantastic our summer events are, and it’s so great to have the hard work and passion of local organizers recognized on a global scale.
So what are some things you need to check out this summer?  These are just a few of the highlights, and some of the many reasons we are so proud to live in YEG.  So get out your calendar and be sure to mark these in!
  • Edmonton Craft Beer Festival (June 5-6):  100,000 sqft of craft beer along with food from over 20 of our best local eateries.

  • K Days (July 17-26):  Edmonton’s favourite Midway!

  • Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival (Aug 14-16):  Watch as teams race down the North Saskatchewan River to the heartbeat of the drums.
  • Sonic Boom 2015 (Sept 5-6): Edmonton’s Alternative Music Festival featuring some huge names in music including Hozier, Ellie Goulding and Alexisonfire.
The Housing Market is as hot a topic as the weather, and this month we have had slight changes toward being in the Buyer’s favour.  This is great news if you are wanting to purchase a home or investment property, and as always we are here to help and to answer any questions you may have.  If you know someone who is thinking of joining the market, we always appreciate your referrals and we promise to take excellent care of them.
Have a great month of June!
