Happy Canada D'eh!!!!!!

For every proud Canadian July 1st is a day to celebrate what an incredible country we live in! Festivities vary from area to area and for those of us near major centres it means we can have a great variety of options to proudly flash our red and white.
Edmonton and Strathcona County have some pretty awesome events they put on, and majority of it is cost free! So here are a few ideas to get out, enjoy some food, hear some live music, and spread the cheer of true Canadian spirit:

Edmonton:
• Alberta Legislature Grounds Celebrations: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Edmonton River Valley Fireworks: 11:00 pm
• Edmonton Queen Fireworks Cruise: 9:00 pm
• Old Strathcona Silly Summer Parade and Picnic (Whyte Ave to Queen Alexandra School): 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm
• City Hall Activites: 11:30 am to 4:00 pm
• Sir Winston Churchill Square: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Muttart Conservatory: 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
• Louise McKinney Park: 2 pm to 8 pm
• Valley Zoo Canada Day: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
• North Edmonton (Northland’s Telus Stage): 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Strathcona County:
• Broadmoor Lake Park Celebrations: 9:00 am to 11:30 pm
• Free Pancake Breakfast from 9:00 am to noon at the Community Centre (401 Festival Lane)
• Farmer’s Market (Festival Place Lot): 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Chamber of Commerce Parade: 10:00 am
• Family Activities 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and more evening fun from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm
• Canada Day Headquarters Stage (Kinsmen Leisure Centre Lot): 12:30 pm to 11:00 pm
• Free swimming at Kinsmen Leisure Centre: 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
• Fireworks over Broadmoor Lake Park: 11:00 pm
